Description For Lab #3 - Uncertainty In Measurement
This lab is designed to examine the uncertainty associated with measuring the acceleration of a cart down a ramp. The acceleration can be measured with three pieces of lab equipment: a photogate, a motion detector and a motion encoder. Each device is programmed to have a realistic variation in its measurement of the acceleration. By running multiple trials it is possible to determine the absolute and relative uncertainty in the acceleration measurement for each device.
